Edna G. Keck, age 107, resident of E. Smiley Rd. Shelby, died Monday, September 25, 2006 at her home.

Born August 14, 1899 in Shelby to William N. and and Edith (McCully) Kuhn she had lived the majority of her life in the Shelby area. On June 29, 1920 she married Charles W. Keck who preceded her in death in 1970. A homemaker and helping hand on the farm, Edna enjoyed doing fancy work, including crochet, embroidery, and sewing. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and baking.

Mrs. Keck was a member of the United Church of Christ and the MedCentral/Shelby Hospital Guild.

Surviving are her daughter, Dorothy Hoover of Shelby; daughter-in-law, Jane Keck of Shelby; three grandchildren, David (Judy) Hoover of North Canton, Dr. Gregory Keck of Sagamore Hills, and Sue (Ted) Black of Jacksonville, Florida; six great-grandchildren, Brian and James Keck, Greg and Jennifer Black, Brianne Abbott and Macy Spaulding; two great-great-grandchildren, Carly and Cole Spaulding; a nephew, Gene Kuhn and niece, Joyce Hawk, both of Shelby. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald S. Keck in 1986; and three brothers, Herbert, Roscoe and Glenn Kuhn.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 1st from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby with Reverend Rich Rader officiating. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Church of Christ; Shelby Home and Public Health and University of Akron, Dr. Gregory C. Keck Scholarship Fund and left in care of the funeral home.
