Bennie J Fagan

Bennie J. Fagan, age 83, died Saturday morning, September 24, 2016 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

Born November 5, 1932 in Plymouth Township to Ralph J. and Mabel G. (Ebersole) Fagan he had been a Shelby area resident all his life. Mr. Fagan was a farmer and former employee of Miami Systems, Shelby Division before retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion O'Brien Post #326, a life member of V.F.W. Post 291 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.  Bennie enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and hosting fish fries for his family, friends and co-workers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary C. "Connie" (Martin) Fagan, whom he wed November 9, 1954; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Elaine Fagan of Shelby; one daughter, Marsha (Fagan) Huffman of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; three grandchildren, Blake Spicer, Holly (Jim) Grove both of Upper Sandusky and CJ Fagan of Shelby; one brother Dean and Ann Fagan of Bucyrus; sister, Patty Meyer of Shelby; sister-in-law, Shirley Fagan of Shelby as well as nieces, nephews other relatives. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bennie J. Fagan Jr in 1956; two brothers, Junior and Leonard Fagan; two sisters, Pam Haley, Bonnie Moomaw; one brother- in-law Joe Meyer and loyal companion, "Buddy".

Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Wednesday September 28, 2016 from the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory.  Dr. Reverend Edna Stahl will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials made to the Alzheimer's Association at 1 Marion Ave suite 308, Mansfield, OH 44903.
