Berniece "Mickey" Friebel, age 84, resident of Shelby died Sunday September 20, 2015 at her home. Born March 2, 1931 in LaRue, Ohio to William Joseph and Loretta Grace (Sifferlin) Albert she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A 1949 graduate of Shelby High School she had been employed as a secretary with Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church retiring in 1993 following twenty six years of service.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby.
Mickey enjoyed sewing, reading and geneology and loved playing poker with her family.
Surviving are her husband of sixty years Richard "Dick" M. Friebel; her children Becky (Victor) Morris of Shelby, Shelly (Mike) Gwirtz of O'Neals California, Mark (Julie) Friebel of Shelby and Denise (Paul) Carriere of Shelby; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Helene Albert and Mary Alice Shaffer both of Shelby; nieces nephews and other realtives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Allan Yarman, two brothers Kenny Albert and Paul Albert, one sister Dorothy Heiland and niece Colleen Albert.
Funeral mass will be recited 10:30 AM Wednesday Septmeber 23, 2015 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Rick Friebel will officiate and a private family interment will be held in the parish cemetery at a later date. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in care of the Shelby Y Community Center, 111 W. Smiley Ave., Shelby, OH 44875.
