Betty "Betts" A. Finnegan

Betty "Betts" Ann Finnegan, age 79, died Wednesday morning February 1, 2017 at OhioHealth Hospital Shelby.
Born October 24, 1937 in Shelby to Francis & Mildred (Bucher) Walp, she has been a Shelby/Shelby Settlement resident her whole life. Betty was a graduate of Shelby High School class of 1955 then received her associates degree in business from the North Central State Technical College. Betty had worked many years at Shelby Insurance and was also a loving housewife. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was the choir director for over 40 years. 
Betty loved all sports, she was an avid bowler and golfer and loved participating in her fantasy football league. She also loved music, singing, playing cards, especially euchre, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Veronica (Stan) Cain of Shelby, John (Tara) Finnegan, Brian (Carol) Finnegan and Becky (Kevin) Rall all of Crestline; 16 grandchildren, Brendan (Kayla), Devin (Kimberlie), Jarrod, Tori and Riley Cain, Hannah, Grace, Lincoln and Huck Finnegan, Caulin, Connor, Dylan and Ian Finnegan and Taylor, Reghan and Macy Rall; one great grandson, Jonathan; sister, Carolyn (Doug) Morris of Wooster; sister-in-law, Barbara Finnegan of Crestline; her aunt, Ann Bucher of Toledo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Brendan Finnegan in 2007 and her sister, Nancy Durden in 2016.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Chris Bohnsack will officiate with interment held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday from 4-8 PM where a Christian wake service will be held at 7:45 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School.
