Deloris M. McKinney

Deloris M. McKinney, age 85, resident of Shelby died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. Born July 23, 1931 in Crawford County near Crestline to Wilbert and Laura (Pettit) Glower the majority of her life was spent in Shelby.  Mrs. McKinney was formerly employed with Wilkins Air Force Depot and later the AMF Co. retiring in 1982.  She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and AARP. 

She loved tending to her flowers and was a strong supporter of the Shelby Whippet Football team. Every Friday during football season Deloris could be seen wearing her Shelby Whippet football shirt to cheer on her nephew, Warren Rehberg.  

Survivors include one brother, Wilbert Glower, Jr. of Shelby; one sister Mary K. Steele of Shelby; brother-in-law, Lloyd "Barney" McKinney of Shiloh; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved and who affectionately called her "Dorie, Do-Do and Dee Dee".  

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert F. McKinney on April 16, 2006; one sister and brother-in-law, Ida Marie and Emmett Cattey; one brother and sister-in-law, Mervin and Betty Glower and brother-in-law Roger Steele.  

Funeral services will be held Monday January 30, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby.  Pastor James Robinson of the First United Church of Christ will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
