George W. Rank

George W.  Rank, age 77, resident of Shelby died Tuesday June 23, 2015 in Kocbacker House in Columbus. 

Born November 26, 1937 in Crawford County to John and Mary Anna (Augustine) Rank, he had been a Shelby resident  the majority of his life. 

George was a former employee of the Ohio Seamless Tube, where he had served as union president of  the Local 3057 chapter. He was a was a former member of the Eagles, American Legion and the Shelby Masonic Lodge F and A.M #350

Survivors include three daughters, Cathy (Tom) Takos of Shelby, Becky (Tim) Paulo of Shelby, Carla Rank of Tiro; one son Brian Rank of Shelby; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Rank of Shelby, James Rank of Huron, Arthur (Pat) Rank of Bucyrus and  Raymond (Sherry) Rank of Lima, his ex-wife Pat Rank of Shelby, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Jones.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 6:00PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor J. Art Kennard with officate. Friends may call at the funeral home friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at a later date. In place of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions may be made to the Rank family.
