Glenn M. Schroff

Glenn Myron Schroff, age 99,  died Wednesday July 27, 2016 at his home.  Born October 1, 1916 in Wooster, OH to Carl G. & Lily (Shank) Schroff, he had been a Shelby area resident since 1950.  Glenn was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific during WWII. 

He was employed with Shelby Mutual Insurance Company as an auto insurance underwriter retiring in 1981. Glenn was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Pandora Dance Club. He was also a member of the First United Church of Christ. He was a past recipient of the Jess Rath award. 

He is survived by his son, Tom Schroff of Shelby; grandson, Ryan (Mara) Schroff of Sunbury, OH and nephew Jeff (Lena) Schroff of Galion.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia A. Schroff, March 26, 1999, one brother and sister and law, Frank and DaLee Schroff and one sister and brother-in-law, Luella and James Jolly.    

Private graveside services will be held in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ, 23 Church St. Shelby, Ohio. Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby is assisting the family with arrangements.
