Jason L Cox

Jason "Jake" L. Cox, age 43, resident of Mansfield died Saturday August 29, 2015 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital.

Born September 18, 1971 in Shelby, Ohio to Jerry and Betty (Baker) Cox he had been a Mansfield area resident since 1995. Jason was a 1990 graduate of Shelby High School, and received his associates degree from Pittsburg's Art Institute in 1992. He began his career in advertising at the Mansfield News Journal and Odell Advertising before starting his own company, Colebaker Concepts in Advertising.

Jason had been a member and advisor for 4H. He enjoyed going to Cedar Point with his niece, nephews, and friends, flower gardening, going to auctions and collecting antiques. He was also a LEGO enthusiast as well as a collector.

In addition to his parents Jerry and Betty, Jason is survived by his grandfather Robert L. Baker of Shelby; brother Troy (Tawny) Cox of Shelby; sister Katie (Brian) Robbins of Medina; nephews Casey, Corey and Ty Cox, Isaac Robbins and niece Megan Robbins; five aunts, Sue (Joel) Beer of Shelby, Kay (Larry) Danals of Ontario, Sally (David) Studer of Shelby, Kathy (Joe) Cotter of Ontario, Trudy (Ronnie) Fraley of Wakeman, OH and close friend Ellen Carr.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald and Grace Cox, and Grandmother Phyllis Baker.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday September 1, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby.  Pastor Lester Vnasdale of the Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Memorial expressions may be made in Jason's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
