John R. Fairchild

John R. Fairchild, age 86, resident of Shelby died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Ohio Health, Mansfield.
Born June 3, 1931 to Charles Myron & Zilpha (Craft) Fairchild, he has been a Shelby resident for the last 66 years. John worked at the Bricker machine Shop as a tool and die maker and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby. He loved Cushmans (1960's-current), and was a member of and toured the nation with the Cushman Club of America. In 1990, John helped to start the North Central Ohio Cushman Club 

John is survived by his wife, Beverly (Williams) Fairchild, whom he married February 3, 1951; daughter, Cathy Fairchild of Streetsboro, OH; grandchildren, Tina (Russel) Hagen, Wendy (Bill) Stewert; great grandchildren, Gavin, Logan, Victoria and Samantha and brother, Bill (Sue) Fairchild, several nieces, nephew, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Fairchild Jr.; brothers, Charles, Neil and George Fairchild and sister, Willa Bail.  

Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. Russel Yoak will officiate with interment held in Crawford County Memory Garden. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
