Marjorie A. Thompson

Marjorie A. Thompson, age 86, resident of Shelby died Friday evening April 29, 2016 at Elmcroft of Ontario. 

Born February 19, 1930 in Shelby to John A. and Leora M. (Bonecutter) Johnson, she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. A 1948 graduate of Shelby High School she was a homemaker and formerly employed with the Autocall Company.  

She was a member of the First Christian Church where she sang in the choir and was currently attending the First Lutheran Church. Marjorie had been a volunteer with the Shelby Memorial Hospital, the blood mobile and was a worker at the election polls.  

Marjorie enjoyed cooking, her luncheon meeting with her close friends and celebrating holidays with her family.

Surviving are her husband  William F. Thompson, whom she married October 6, 1950; one daughter, Rebeca (Kenneth) Papay of Shelby; two sons, John (Tina) Thompson and Andrew (Denise) Thompson all of Shelby; grandchildren, Scott Papay, Nicolle Papay, Chris Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Roger (Rachel) Hawkins, Brandon (Amber) Hawkins, Brittany (Aaron) Brill, Brett Thompson and his fiancé Helen Steward ; great grandchildren, Brach  Beamer-Papay, Jaymie Thompson, Keagan Brill, Lydia Hawkins, Emily Hawkins and twins, Cali & Easton Hawkins and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday May 4, 2016 from the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. Phillip Pearson will officiate with internment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Marjorie so enjoyed attending her sons' and grandchildren's sports activities that the family request memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Athletic Boosters or to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
