Marlise Summers

Marlise L. "Marti" Summers, age 71, resident of Shelby passed away on January 26, 2018 at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Born December 1, 1946 in Shelby to Willard and Mary Jane (Roberts) Pollock, she had been a Mansfield/Shelby area resident for many years. She lived her last few years of her life in Findlay, Ohio.  A 1964 graduate of Shelby High School, she worked at Goodyear-Dunlop Tire in Shelby since 1994.  Marti was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, quilting and the company of her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, William (Janet) Summers, Alvada, OH; three daughters, Lisa Marie (Scott) McDowell of Arlington, OH, Jamie Bays of Mansfield and Christina (David) Stewart of N. Fairfield; thirteen grandchildren; one brother, Bill Pollock of Shelby; two sisters, Mary Paulette (Ronald) Sponseller of Ontario, and Sue Pollock of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda Hicks; nephew, Jeff Pollock and niece, Jenny Sprankle.

Friends may call at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Saturday. Rev. Dr. Edna Stahl of the Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. 

The family of Marti Summers wishes to thank Dr. O’Malley & nurses at James Cancer Hospital, Dr. Ranker and nurses at Creighton Dialysis Center as well as Elaine at Black Stone Home Health Care for the many hours of care they provided.
