Nancy Shelton

July 7, 1933 ~ May 10, 2015 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Nancy L. Shelton, age 81, resident of Shelby, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.  Born July 7, 1933 in Shelby to Russell and Alta (Billman) Roberts, she had been a life long Shelby resident. 

She was formerly employed with Big Plus Discount Store and retired from Struble's Drug Store in Shelby.  Nancy was a member of the Shelby Community & Senior Center where she was an active volunteer who enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. An ardent fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers, she also enjoyed reading, working puzzles and puzzle books.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dave) Loomis of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Josh Loomis and Megan Vermillion; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Vermillion, Maleigha Strickler-Loomis and Isabella Carbetta; her sister, JoAnn Bland of Shelby, three brothers, James (Sandi) Roberts, Tom (Ann) Roberts and Bud (JoAnn) Roberts, all of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Betty Seaton, Gladys Mae Roberts, Irene Eggleston, Esther Williams, and Jane Pollock, and three brothers, John, Paul and Eugene Roberts.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory with Dr. Edna Stahl officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Community & Senior Center and Shelby Help Line Ministries.
