Dear Parrish Family - How sorry we are to read of Dick's passing. Jan and I will never forget, when following the flood of 1987, Jim McBride and Dick were outside of our business, Kaple Printing, when Jan had his fingers amputated by the paper cutter he was cleaning up. They heard the "commotion", came inside and immediately set to action getting the fingers on ice and on a clean rag and transporting them to the hospital. Had it not been for their fast action, the doctors at Riverside may not have been able to do what they did in reattaching the fingers to the hand and given Jan the chance to come back from this devastating accident like he did. Thirty years later we are still grateful for Dick and Jim's quick response. Maybe this is not the place to leave this story, but it just shows what an amazing, caring person Dick was. I know he will be greatly missed.

Laurie, What a shock to hear of Dick's passing. Although we had lost touch throughout the past years, I often thought of Dick and all the great times and memories we made together. Work, ping-pong games, hunting, fishing, flea markets searching for WWII memorabilia, and just hanging out. Smokey and Milly made themselves a legend ( or at least we thought so). What a GREAT friend who will always be a special part of my life. God bless you and your family during this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Dear Parrish Family, May you find comfort in those around you these next couple days and always when you remember your husband, dad, and grandpa. He will always have a special place in the hearts of our family. He was a fantastic teacher to Will and Kira, not just the subjects he taught, but life, love and faith too. I always knew that I could count on him when I would walk in his room to listen to me and cheer me up when I was troubled. The stories he shared with me showed that he loved all of you very much, and every time he spoke of any of you, there was a special twinkle in his eyes. I know he is looking down from heaven upon you. I can picture him standing there with your daughter/sister holding onto daddy's finger. With much love and comfort.
