Pauline M Gross

Pauline M. Gross, age 87, resident of Shelby died Monday, April 24, 2017 at her home. 

Born July 21, 1929 in Attica, Ohio to Lester and Bertha (Musselman) Hutchison she had been a Shelby resident since 1952.  Pauline was a 1947 graduate of Willard High School and was a former employee of Shelby Insurance Co. retiring in 1990.  Following her retirement she was a babysitter for numerous area families and had assisted in the Calvary Baptist Church nursery for over thirty years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a sixty six year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, former Rizpah Chapter #153. She enjoyed crocheting and looked forward to her family get togethers. 

Surviving are one daughter, Sherri (Greg) Woodall of Shelby; one son Ken Gross of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, Michael (Megan) Davidson and Tyler (Cierra) Woodall; three great-grandchildren Hayden and Eli Davidson and Aubree Woodall; her "adopted" daughter Linda (Bert) Royce and her children Mindy and Adam; sister-in-law Pat Hutchison; nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ted E. Gross in 1998; two brothers Donald and Gerald Hutchison and sister-in-law Martha Hutchison. 

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby. Reverend Steven L. Schag will officiate with interment in Bethel Cemetery, St Rt. 224 Attica, Ohio.  Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM where Eastern Star services will be held at 7:45 PM. Memorial expressions may be made in care of the Calvary Baptist Church at 21 Washington St., Shelby, OH 44875.
