Ralph W Bisel

Ralph Bisel, age 88, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Country Meadows Care Center in Bellville. 

Born September 16, 1927 in rural Shelby to Harry H. and Myrtle O. (Wallace) Bisel he had been a resident of Shiloh.  A 1945 graduate of Shelby High School, he had farmed all of his life in the Shelby-Shiloh area. He was a member of the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church and was active in 4-H and Tractor Maintenance for many years as well as owning and repairing his own John Deer tractors. He was employed with and retired from the Richland County Highway Department. Ralph enjoyed traveling and working on puzzles. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 1/2 years, Dorothy A. (Gribben) Bisel, whom he married October 16, 1948;  ten children, David (Carol) Bisel of Shelby, Roger Bisel and Jan McCracken of Shiloh, Donald (Liz) Bisel of Lexington, Garry (Terri) Bisel of Shiloh, Kenneth (Carla) Bisel of Shelby, William "Bill" Bisel of Mansfield, Paul (Kim) Bisel of Greenwich, Katherine "Kathy" (Buddy) Enzor of Plymouth , Becky (Tim) Fields of Utica, and Sherri (Rick) Depinet of Attica; 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; three brothers Charles Bisel of Shelby, Richard (Karolyn) Bisel of Shelby and Duane (Barb) Bisel of Mansfield; and other relatives.  

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Naoma Dunlap, Eileen Bisel, Iona Pugh, Florence McClain and Mabel Chadwick and one grandson Timothy Fields. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. Pastor Blanche Tyree will officiate with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby, Thursday from 4:00- 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Hope Lutheran Church at 29 W Main St, Shiloh, OH 44878
