|Paul D. Champion, age 94, resident of Shelby died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Heritage Care Center following a short illness.
He was born August 18, 1915 in Shelby, the only child of the late Otto L. and Florence (Hall) Champion. He spent the majority of his life in the Shelby area.
Paul was a farmer most of his life, however, he was an accomplished welder and had worked for Thompson Aircraft in Cleveland during and after World War II. He returned home to care for his parents and farmed the remainder of his life. Paul enjoyed spending time on his farm and did all his plowing in 2009 preparing for the planting this Spring.
At Paul's request, graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Oakland Cemetery by The Rev. David S. Sipes. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Foundation, 142 N. Gamble St., Shelby, OH 44875 or the charity of one's choice. Barkdull Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
