Albert Giese

Albert B. Giese age 93 resident of Shelby, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

Born August 24, 1924 in Germany to Bernhard & Marie Giese, he has been a Shelby resident since 1955.

Albert had worked at the Tuby, retiring in 1986 and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby.
He loved music and dancing and played the accordion, button box and the drums. Albert loved to travel to nursing homes and play music for the residents. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a regular at Cornell's IGA Cafeteria.

He is survived by one son Armin B. (Janet) Giese of Shelby; two grandchildren Brian (Renee) Giese of North Ridgeville, OH and Kristin Giese of Los Angeles, CA; two great grandchildren Noah and Maggie Giese; brother, Hienz (Dagmar) Giese of Island of Sylt in Germany; two brothers-in-law, Hans and Ewald Hahn both of Denmark and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elisabeth D. Giese in 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Reverend Russel Yoak will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00-1:00PM.
