Andrew Charles Dawson, age 44, of Shelby died unexpectedly in a farm accident Thursday, April 25, 2018 at his home.
Born April 2, 1974 in Shelby to Orva E. & Dee Dee L. (Grafmiler) Dawson, Andy has been a Shelby resident his entire life.
A graduate of Shelby High School class of 1993, Andy then graduated from the Ohio State University in 1998 with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Education. While going to college at OSU, Andy played on the football team in 1993 as a lineman and left guard. Following graduation Andy worked at the family's dairy farm and was a John Deer fanatic.
He was a member of the Shelby F&AM Masonic Lodge #350 and was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Cavaliers fan and loved going to auctions, and garage sales.
Andy is survived by his parents, his paternal grandmother, Donna Dawson and maternal grandmother, Margaret "Dee Dee" Kemp; siblings, Sally (Tom) Hoak, Mary Dawson, Amy Dawson, Kelly Dawson, Scott Dawson all of Shelby and Sherry (Fiancé Brandon Frankart) Dawson of Republic; nieces and nephews, Logan Cronenwett, Sarah Hoak, Ethan Dawson, Anthony Dawson and Braxton Dawson; numerous other relatives and his faithful companion Brody, his Boxer dog.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Orva Dawson Sr.; maternal grandfather, Charles Kemp and two uncles, John Hastings and Earl Dawson.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM. A celebration of life services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday at the Plymouth Township Hall, 7025 Kuhn Rd. Shelby, Ohio 44875.
In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the Dawson Family to help defray funeral costs.
