Angelika (Yetzer) George Obituary

Angelika Maria (Yetzer) George, age 65 of Shelby, passed away peacefully Monday morning January 7, 2019 surrounded by her family at home. 

Born March 20, 1953, Angie has been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A 1971 graduate of Shelby High School, Angie graduated from North Central Technical College and worked as a regional property management director. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Altrusa, Civitan, Shelby Planning Commission, Friends of Seltzer Park, Park Village Board and the Mansfield Board of Realtors.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting, sewing, reading, traveling and listening to music.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas George, whom she married September 16, 1978; her children, Jodi (Russell) Messner of Shelby and Jaden Jaymes George of Petaluma, CA; three grandchildren, Courtney (Todd) Barnett of Mansfield, Shawnee (Brady) Weslow of Maryland, Cole Messner of Shelby; two great grandchildren, Griffin Barnett and Mallory Weslow with one on the way; her mother, Kathe Yetzer; one sister and two brothers, Monica (Ron) Cirata, Karl (Belinda) Yetzer and Andrew (Ellen) Yetzer all of Shelby and nine nieces and three nephews..

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Yetzer; in-laws, Donald & Helen George and her grandmother, Anna Mastrek. 

A graveside service, conducted by Rev. Garland Harvey, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Foxfield Preserve, 9877 Alabama Avenue SW, Wilmot, Ohio 44689. Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Senior/Community Center or to the First United Methodist Church.
