Carol Sue (Morse) Hale, age 84, died Saturday June 2, 2018 in Crystal Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 13, 1933 in Shelby to Court and Gladys (Major) Morse. She was a graduate of Shelby Senior High School Class of 1952. Aside from being a homemaker Carol held many jobs over her lifetime, most notably Powell Supply and Floorcraft. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Free Church of Mansfield.
Carol was known for her witty sense of humor and she also enjoyed working with ceramics, reading and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. Carol also had a passion for cooking, baking and preserving family heirloom recipes. Carol loved to sing and was a member of Sweet Adeline’s for several years. Carol’s family was very important to her and she truly cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
Surviving are her children Linda (Gregg) Gleisinger of Mansfield, Michael (Beverly) Ryder of Lexington and Cheryl Ryder of Lexington; grandchildren Ryan Ryder, Eric Gleisinger and Nicole White; one great granddaughter Lydia White; one sister-in-law Jane Morse of Shelby and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Hale, two brothers Jim Morse and Dean Morse, and sister-in-law Joyce Morse.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday June 7, 2018 from the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor Dennis Nezrick of the Grace Evangelical Free Church will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
