Charles P. Picking

Charles P. Picking, age 90, resident of Shelby died Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Mt. Carmel, St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.  Born May 15, 1927 in Shelby to Dewey A. and Irma E. (Weller) Picking, he had been a lifelong Shelby resident. He had attended the Columbus School for the Deaf and was a member of the Mansfield Deaf Club. He was a former employee of the Autocall Company. 

Charles had attended the Shelby Church of the Nazarene and recently the Taylortown Community Church. 

Charles enjoyed socializing and visiting with his friends. 

Survivors include two granddaughters Mitzi (Tyler) Puckett of Hillsboro, OH and Mandy (Clint) Bishop of Dublin; two great grandsons, Gavin and Griffin Puckett; his sister Donna Wondrash of Shelby, sister-in-law, Edna Picking of Shelby and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Picking, his daughter Cathy Kisling and one brother Virgil Picking and brother-in-law, Fred Wondrash. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday July 5, 2017 from the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Doug Tackett of the Taylortown Community Church will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday for 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
