David Alan Day

David Alan Day, age 56, resident of Shelby passed away on December 16, 2017 at Crestwood Care Center, following a brief illness.
He was born January 1, 1961 in Shelby to Robert and Ilene Day. He was a lifelong Shelby resident, graduating from Shelby Senior High School, class of 1979.
David was a Ham radio licensed operator, loving to attend Hamfest in Mansfield. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing and adventures with grandson David.
He is survived by his mother, Ilene Day and step-father, Larry Fogle of Shelby; fiance, Lynn Myers of Ashland; daughter, Crystal Ramey of Shelby; grandchildren Sabrina and Elise Price, Lilian and Riley Ramey, Michaela and Noah Day; special grandson, David Myers; step-sons, Jon, Luke, and Bob Myers; sister Jane Sturgill of Shelby and brother William (Linda) Day of Canal Fulton; nieces, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and son Michael Day.
Friends may call at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 11:00 AM Wednesday. Pastor Steven L. Schag of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate with interment at Oakland Cemetery.
David's family requested that memorial contributions be made to Barkdull Funeral Home in the form of donations to help defray funeral expenses.
