Elden W. Warren Thomas, age 95, died Friday September 14, 2018 in Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. Born November 17, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio to Clarence and Lorena (Plank) Thomas he had been a resident of Ontario for over 65 years. He was an employee of General Motors of Ontario retiring following 35 years of service. He had also operated a television repair service for many years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Elden loved flying and had acquired his pilot's license at the age of eighteen and owned a his own Cessna airplane.
He is survived by his 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Bettie Thomas of Crestline and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Melissa (Sutton) Thomas in 2003; son Paul Thomas; step-daughter Patricia Cummins; granddaughter Yolanda Morehead and one sister June Taynor.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday September 19, 2018 from the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor Doug Tackett will officiate with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
