Felicie Hopkins

Felicie Hopkins, age 90, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

Born February 3, 1928 in Tongeren, Beligum to Jean and Jeanette (Schoefs) Vangenechten, she had moved to Pikeville, KY in 1946 and then to Shelby in 1961.

Felicie enjoyed crocheting and working in her flower garden. 

She is survived by her four sons, Eugene (Marilyn) Hopkins of Shelby, Larry Hopkins of Shelby, Garry (Diana) Hopkins of Paulden, AZ, and Randy (significant other Laura) Hopkins of Shelby; one daughter Brenda (Nathan) Howell of Shelby; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and other relatives.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Hopkins in 2004; three daughters Jeanette Close, Debbie Ratliff and Sharon Kay Hopkins; two brothers Martin and Jeff Vangenechten and daughter-in-law Andrea (Croft) Hopkins.

Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018. A memorial services will be held following calling hours at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Her grandson Reverend Daniel Ratliff will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
