Gary W. Couch, age 62, resident Mansfield, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Ohio Health Mansfield.
Born April 14, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he had been a Mansfield-Shelby area resident the majority of his life. He was a 1975 graduate of Mansfield Sr. High School and had coached Little League in Shelby for 14 years. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1975 to 1979. He was employed with Harriman-Roth Heating & Plumbing since 1982 and became owner /operator in 1989. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, drag racing, baseball & softball and most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Tina (Craft) Couch; one son Tony Couch (Jessie Spoerr) of Shelby; two daughters, Melanie (Fred) Rivera of Orlando, Florida, and LaShay (Brent) Williams of Shelby; six grandchildren, Matthew Rivera, Klayton and Kaylee Kosa and their father Nate, Makenzie Alyson Couch and her mother Jill, Keely and Kole Williams; one sister, Lynn Couch of Shenandoah, OH; his in-laws, Shirley Craft, Ed (Pam) Craft, Peggy Craft, Tom (Shelli) Craft, David (Tina) Craft, Bonnie Craft; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Lorraine Couch; an infant brother Anthony Wayne; a granddaughter Allyson Fry and father-in-law James Craft.
Friends are welcome to celebrate Gary's life at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Burial Detail will be held at 6:00 PM. At the conclusion of the honors funeral services will begin at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Glenn Phillips.
