George Louis Clark, age 90, resident of Shiloh, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

Born June 11, 1927 in Mt. Vernon to Charles and Edna M. (Bennett) Clark, he had been a Shelby area resident since 1947, moving to Millersburg in 1981 and had resided in Shiloh since 1992.  

A 1945 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Mr. Clark had been employed at the Seaman Corporation in Wooster for 11 years before retiring in 1992.  He was a former employee of Shelby Salesbook and also Shelby Mutual Insurance Company for 22 years.  A veteran of US Navy serving during WWII he had served on the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad Detail. George was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church of Shiloh, Shiloh American Legion Post #503, Mansfield V.F.W. Post #9943, Shiloh Area Historical Society, Shiloh Grange; and past member of the National Holiday Rambler Vehicle Club. For fifteen years he and his wife Mary Ann had wintered in Alamo, Texas. 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann (Miller) Clark, whom he wed July 1, 1977; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Amy Clark of Shelby; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori R. and Tim Kleman of Shelby; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Lanny D. and Angela Seaman of Shiloh; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca L. Seaman of Shiloh and  Melanie A. Seaman and spouse Fate Christian of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brian Clark, Aric (Janet) Clark, Kelly (Megan) Kleman and Derek Kleman; Lance and Kristen, Tyler (Alicia), and Logan (Maya) Seaman; and four great-grandchildren, numerous step great grandchildren, one great great-grandson,  

In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by three brothers, James B., Charles S., Jr., L. David Clark; two sisters, Martha E. Westfall and Elizabeth Rhoad, and one step great grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 14, 2017 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church where Pastor Tyree will officiate. Friends may call 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Barkdull Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gambier, Ohio.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Fire Department 11 N Delaware St, Shiloh, OH 44878, Mt Hope Lutheran Church  29 W Main St, Shiloh, OH 44878, and /or American Legion 4 W Main St, Shiloh, OH 44878.
