George A. Eshelman age 83, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home.
Born April 20, 1935 in Everett, Pennsylvania to John G and Elva (Sipe) Eshelman, he had been a resident of Pennsylvania until moving to Shelby in 1958. George and his son had owned and operated a construction company, where he had been a 50 year operating engineer. His main passion was being a farmer, and continued to farm until 2017. He had also been the owner and operator of the Pine Grove Mobile Estates in Plymouth.
George was a 50 year member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge #350 Lodge, a member of the NRA, the Ohio Good Sams Camping Club and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 for 50 years. He had enjoyed Camping with his wife, and was passionate about farming.
George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane (Morris) Eshelman, whom he wed January 24, 1955; son Mark (Deb) Eshelman and daughter Julie (Joe) Heichelbech both of Shelby; four grandchildren Randi (Brian) Dorion of Butler, Cassie (Drew) Harwood of St. Mary's, Georgia, Mindy (Zac) Tuttle of Shelby, Nicholas Claytor of Shelby; seven great grandchildren Devon and Savannah Dorion, Tripp and Jett Harwood, Maddie and Charlotte Tuttle and Maxwell Claytor; three brothers Bill (Shirley) Eshelman of Shelby, Charlie (Deb) Eshelman of Florida, Larry (Martha) Eshelman of Shelby, sister Elmira (Dean) Grimes of Pennsylvania, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Dan, Ron and John Eshelman.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with interment being held in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
