Gladys L. Deppe

Gladys L. Deppe, age 97, former Shelby resident died Monday, July 22, 2019 at Elmcroft Senior Living Center in Mansfield.

Born February 6, 1922 in Shelby to Alfred and Blanche (Waldsmith) Kleinknect she had been a Shelby resident for the majority of her life before moving to Elmcroft in 2011. Gladys had been a former employee of the Shelby Spring Hinge Co. and an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Shelby.

She had enjoyed going for walks in her home town, playing golf, bowling and being outdoors. Gladys was an avid reader who loved spending time at the Marvin Memorial Library. 

She is survived by her step-daughter Judy (Jerry) Henry Francl of Galion, one grandson Jerry Francl of Mansfield; one great granddaughter Lillian Francl; one niece Joyce (Ken) Hubert of Mansfield; one nephew Jim (Vera) Bridges of Apple Valley, OH and other relatives. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Fetzer Henry; second husband Albert Deppe; one brother Albert Kleinknect; two sisters Erma Monn and Doris Bridges.

Calling hours will not be observed. A graveside service will be held in Oakland Cemetery Friday, July 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Russel Yoak will officiate.
