Helen M. Petersen, age 93, resident of Fairborn, died Sunday November 24, 2019 in Wright Rehab and Healthcare Center in Fairborn, OH. Born November 1, 1926 in Ripley Center, Huron County to Charles and Emma (Moore) Brown, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life moving to Fairborn in 2010. A 1946 graduate of Shelby High School, she was a former employee of Miller Products, Shelby Cycle Co., American Tower and Wright Patterson Air Force Base, retiring in 1988. Helen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby.
Survivors include three daughters, Jennie (Emmett) LeMaster of Fairborn, Ohio, Lois (Dana) Gall of Athens, Ohio and Kimberly (Mike) Watson of South Charleston, Ohio; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Petersen in 2004; two daughters, Emma Jeanette Booth and Marcia Henderson; one granddaughter Angela and one grandson, George; four brothers, Lloyd, Ervin, Clessan and Edward Brown; five sisters, Rose Huntley, Mary Heifner, Mildred Corbin, Cleda Gurney and Gladys Smith.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday November 29, 2019 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor Cody Eaton will officiate with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday prior to the funeral from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Washington Ave., Shelby, OH 44875.
