Jeffrey A. Sperk, age 69, resident of Shelby died Friday March 30, 2018 in Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
Born June 25, 1948 in Shelby to George A. and Beatrice I. (Yohn) Sperk, he had been a Shelby resident for the majority of his life. Jeffrey was a 1966 graduate of Shelby High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He had served from 1968 to 1970 in Panama during the Vietnam War.
He had been formerly employed with Shelby Business Forms, R. R. Donnelly's and Autocall before working for the Hartman Electric Co., retiring in 2012.
Jeffrey had really enjoyed his retirement, and especially the opportunity to spend quality time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda (Caskey) Sperk, whom he wed June 29, 1974; two sons Ryan (Kelly) Sperk of Oxford, AL, Travis (Danaé) Sperk of Gahanna, OH; five grandchildren Cameron, Madison, Karly, Kade, and Kash Sperk; one brother Pete (Karen) Sperk of Shelby; two sisters Marilyn (Brad) Neff of Tarpon Springs, FL and Cindy (Duke) Montgomery of Mansfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two infant sisters Janeen E and Andrea D Sperk.
Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, April 2, 2018. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastor James Robinson will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery.
