Julian W. "Mook" Barnard III, age 68, resident of Shelby died Sunday September 30, 2018 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. Born June 30, 1950 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to Julian W. and Louise "Dollie" (Eckert) Barnard, Jr. he had been a Shelby resident the majority of his life. He was a 1968 graduate of Shelby High School and a former employee of Pioneer Rubber Co. in Willard. In the mid 1970's he moved to Chicago and studied to receive his investment brokerage license and began his career as an investment broker. He returned to Shelby and was employed in Mansfield with Prescott, Ball and Turben and then with Dean Witter Investments.
He was a member of the former Shelby Jaycees.
Mook loved music and was a very talented musician and vocalist, performing throughout the state during the 1960's and 70's. He loved to cook and entertain at his home for friends and family. He will be remembered for his unique, gregarious, outgoing personality.
Survivors include three sons Aaron Barnard of Mansfield, Eric and Jessy Barnard of Shelby and Julian Michael Barnard of Salt Lake City, Utah; one granddaughter Olivia Barnard; two sisters Julia and Ben Hebner of Henrico, Virginia and Laura Barnard and her husband Blake Womack of Pittsburgh, PA.; step mother Eileen Wolford of Mansfield; several nephews and nieces and his faithful canine companion "Noodles".
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Mook's life will be held Thursday October 4, 2018 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions in honor of Mook may be made in care of : Barkdull Funeral Home, P.O. Box 644, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
