Luella O. Schiffer, age 100, resident of Shelby passed away December 31, 2018 at The Waterford of Mansfield.
Born July 2, 1918, in Shelby to Frank Eli and Amelia (Neric) Eli, she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. Luella had worked at Shelby Metal Products and O'neil's in the cosmetic department. She had also cooked at the Missionary's of Sacred Heart.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, The Daughters of Isabella and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a homemaker who enjoyed square and line dancing, playing cards, and reading.
Survivors include her son Charles "Chuck" (Charlotte) Schiffer Jr. of Shelby; grandsons Brian (Lisa) Schiffer of Boise, Idaho and Brett (Sheena) Schiffer of Broadview Heights, Ohio; great-grandchildren Lauren and Sarah both of Boise, Idaho; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Schiffer; sisters Angela Burdett, Helen Ackerman, Louise Leffler, and Donna York.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Monday 10:30 AM at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Nicholas Weibl will officiate with interment at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
