Marie M. Dodge

Marie M. Dodge, age 91, resident of Shelby died Sunday February 17, 2019 at Crestwood Care Center.  Born August 1, 1927  in Perrysville, Indiana to Gabriel and Bessie (Holycross) Day she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life.  A 1945 graduate of Shelby Senior High School she had been employed with Isaly's, the Shelby Salesbook Co., Shelby Auto Club, and the Style Shop.  She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church. Marie was an avid reader who enjoyed spending  time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include two sons Greg (Mary) Dodge and Paul (Jennifer B.) Dodge, three daughters Cathy Dodge, Jean Ann Flor and Laura (Doug) Lewis; six grandchildren, Matt (Jodie) Dodge and Amanda (Matt) Murphy, Jennifer (Jeff) Yates, Cori (Scott) Kreger, Monty (Jennifer) Lewis and Tristan Flor, ten great-grandchildren, two brothers Ronald and Norm Day, one sister, Phyllis Kempf, nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by  her husband of 70 years, William C. Dodge; three sisters, Imogene Lewis, Ruth Day and Nellie Popa; two brothers Leo and Harold Day and one great granddaughter Avery Mae Murphy.

Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Thursday February 21, 2019 from the Barkdull Funeral Home. Pastor Russel Yoak, her pastor, will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 33 Broadway St. Shelby, OH  448875 or to the Shelby Whippet Boosters Club in c/o Cathy Dodge, 145 Mansfield Ave. Apt 7, Shelby, OH 44875.
