Michael E Wray

Michael E. Wray, age 67, of Shelby died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in his home. Born March 11, 1951 in Shelby to James Victor and Helen Lucille (Wink) Wray he had been a lifelong Shelby resident.  A 1970 graduate of Shelby High School he had been employed with Newman Tech in Mansfield retiring in 2017.  He had also served as an auxiliary police officer with the Shelby Police Department and as a guard with Firestone Tire.  

Mike enjoyed woodworking and working in his garage on his pickup truck.  He always looked forward to spending time with his children and  grandchildren. 

He is survived by his children, Shelli (Scott) Maynard of Columbus; Becky (Christopher) Helser of Columbus, Rob Wray of Columbus, Joey (Michelle) Wray of Columbus, Kyrbie Dawson and fiancé Zac Risner of Norwalk, Kylie Wray of Mansfield; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother Danny (Shirley) Wray of Shelby three sisters Sandra (Jim) Steffner of Nova, OH, Regena (Forest) Boone of W. Va. and Cindy Burling of Nevada and other relatives.  

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Steve Wray. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday June 6, 2018 from the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Russel Yoak will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM.  Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
