Nancy Jane Roberts, age 78, resident of Ontario and former Shelby resident, died Wednesday evening December 19, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland.
Born in Shelby April 15, 1940 to William Arthur and Gertrude Elizabeth (Heintz) Armstrong, she had been a Shelby resident most of her life. A 1958 graduate of Shelby High School, she attended North Central State College. Nancy was employed with Uforma Shelby Business Forms for over 28 years retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Roberts is a member of Ontario United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles and Shelby American Legion Auxiliary Unit #326. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and painting. She and her husband enjoyed gardening, and traveling where they camped in several National Parks.
Survivors include two sons; Tim William (Paula) Roberts and Edward D. Roberts both of Shelby; her grandchildren, Rachel Howlett, Matt, Nicole, Sarah, and Justin Roberts, six great grandchildren Harley, Lilli, Ember, Hazel, Jazlynn, Joel; one sister, Pat Weston of Shelby; two brothers, Bill (Charlotte) Armstrong of Cardington and Carl (Rebecca) Armstrong of Shiloh; brother-in-law Carl Timbs of Attica; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed Roberts in 1983, two sisters, Alice Fairchild and Ruth Ann Timbs, grandson, Cody Roberts and brother-in-law Joe Weston.
Per Nancy's request funeral services will not be observed. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby.
