Randall "Smitty" Love, age 62, resident of Mansfield and formerly of Shelby died Thursday December 27, 2018 at his home. Born September 21, 1956 in Shelby to Charles Richard Love & Marvel Jeanne (Clark) Love Schiffer, he was a resident of Mansfield and a longtime resident of Shelby. A 1974 graduate of Shelby High School, Smitty was employed as a contractor salesman with several local lumber yards and was currently employed with Qualiform Metals in Shiloh. He was a multi-talented musician and vocalist who played the drums, guitar and piano. He had performed with many local bands, most notably with the "Back On Earth Band" for 40 years. Smitty was a people person, who will be remembered for his quick wit and outgoing personality. He enjoyed his home and was always willing to help with projects around the family property. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Linda (Reiter) Love; step son Todd (Michelle) Smith of Columbus; grand dogs, Mac & Mabel; two brothers-in-law, David and Alfred Reiter of Mansfield; father-in-law, Ludwig Reiter of Mansfield; niece, Ami (Josh) McCormick of Charlotte, NC; his sister Candy Love Bonecutter of Bradenton, FL; two nephews, Rockwell "Rocky" (Kris) Bonecutter of Mt. Gilead and Andy Bonecutter of Bradenton, FL; great niece and nephew, Maddie and Brody Bonecutter; brother-in-law Gary Bonecutter of Florida; aunt, Evelyn Clark of Shelby and cousins; his feline buddies Bob, Frankie, Dolly and Duke and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronald Clark, step father John Schiffer and mother-in-law, Rose Reiter.
A celebration of Smitty's life will be held Wednesday January 2, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society, 3025 Park Ave. W., Ontario, Ohio 44906.
