Robert Victor Bigelow, age 92, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Born September, 5, 1925 in Vanceburg, Kentucky to Robert Monroe & Eunice (McKinney) Bigelow, he had been a Shelby resident since the late 1940's.
Victor served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII and then had worked at Westinghouse in Mansfield retiring in 1983 as an assembler.
He was a talented carpenter who did woodworking jobs for many residences in the Shelby and Mansfield area. He had also built his own home.
He is survived by his children, Phillip (Sue) Bigelow of Mansfield, Lawrence (Mindy) Bigelow of Shelby, and Kevin (Andrea) Bigelow of Ontario; four grandchildren, Jason Bigelow, Michelle Alfrey, Eric (Kristin) Bigelow and Laura (Brian) Reber; four great-grandchildren; one step great grandson; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Bigelow in 2014 parents; daughter Deborah Bigelow; sisters, June Good, Sue Hord, Norma Armstrong, Myrna Curtis,Wanda Millhallen and Marva Montgomery; brothers, Dennis, Dallas, Hubert Bigelow and infant brother, Roger Dean Bigelow.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday June 29, 2018 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory. Reverend Earl Tackett will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
