Ronald E. Detillion, age 85, died Tuesday night, June 11, 2019 in Crestwood Care Center.
Born August 23, 1933 in Waverly, Ohio to Dwight & Mildred (Bowman) Detillion, he had been a Shelby resident the majority of his life. Ron was employed with Ohio Seamless Tube for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He attended the Taylortown Community Church.
Ron enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows with his 1951 Chevy. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He also was a hunter who loved the outdoors and bird watching. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Regina (Ed) Craft of Shelby, Wanda (Dan) Hubert of Shelby, Rod (Rosie) Detillion of Shelby, Mike (Christine) Detillion of Shelby and Ronald (Marilyn ) Detillion of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, Terri (John) Ensman, Sherri Craft Gunder, Edward (Shawna) Craft, Ryan (Roselyn) Craft, Daniel (Kim) Hubert, David (Mindy) Hubert, Valerie (Brian) Lehman, Jami Detillion; 22 great grandchildren; step grandchildren Carrie Egner, Joseph Tuttle, Alyssa Dale and Mathew Dale; one sister, Juanita (Ron) Mitchem of Dayton; brothers, Ed (Betty) Detillion of Shelby, Paul (Judy) Detillion of Shelby, Daniel (Karen) Detillion of Waverly and Mike (Janie) Detillion of Shirley, Massachusetts, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife of 66 years Mildred Maxine Detillion who passed in August 23, 2018; four brothers, Carl, Jim, Tim and Robert Detillion and one grandson, Scot Detillion.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby. Pastor Doug Tackett will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, 3774 Orweiler Rd, Mansfield, OH 44903.
