Irene Salyer, age 76, of Shelby died Tuesday, August 02, 2016 at Ohio Health Hospital, Shelby. Born February 07, 1940 in Elliot County, KY to Lyman and Sabra (Winkleman) Brown. Irene was a long time resident of Shelby. She was a member of the Shelby Church of God. Irene enjoyed quilting, gardening, puzzles, and writing. She is survived by five children, four sons Randy (Marie) Brown of Mansfield, Aaron Eldridge of Mt. Vernon, Billy (Toni) Eldridge of West Milton, Jeffrey C. Eldridge of Mt. Vernon and daughter Kathy Gene Highfield of Shelby; eleven grandchildren, Mandy (Jeff) Bachelor, Jason Brown, Brian Eldridge, Rachelle Emory, Heather (Joel) Henkel, Brad (Emily) Bowman, Shane (Nicole) Gearheart, Billy (Julie) Eldridge, Matt (Kelly) Bowman and Bayley Eldridge; eighteen great-grandchildren and eight siblings, Thelma Brown of Springfield, Geneva Disney of Huber Heights, Beulah Adams of Nancy, KY, Liz (Sonny) Mounts of Vidor, TX, Leo (Liz) Brown of Brookville, Barbara Newton of Jackson, KY, Bonnie Brown of Dayton, and Kathie Nichol of Union. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Jimmy, two sisters Ethel Imagene Brown and Eliza Dean; four brothers, Homer, Willis, Marvin, Sidney, Vernon, David Brown and one grandson Jason Brown. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 06, 2016 at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby with Pastor Rick Lewis officiating. Interment will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
