Obituary

Amy (LaBarge) Jones Obituary On December 8, 2024, Amy Lou (LaBarge) Jones passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Amy was born on November 18, 1934 to the late Arthur James LaBarge and May Lily (Mattox) LaBarge in Mansfield, Ohio. Shelby was Amys lifelong community, beginning with her childhood days on Williams Court to her family home of 62 years on George Hawk Road, where she raised her four children. She and her home were the heart of the family. Amy was a graduate of Shelby High School class of 1952 and stayed an active alum throughout her lifetime. Her friendships were deep and enduring. In her younger years, Amy sang with the Blackfork Players, volunteered at Shelby Hospital, and enjoyed being "room mother" for all of her children. Her door (and her kitchen) was always open not only to her own energetic kids, but to their friends as well. Amy and her husband, Don, had many happy adventures with the Mansfield Goldwing Club. Their trailer on the beach at BayPoint launched many years of family fun. Amy was a cherished member of The First United Methodist Church in Shelby. She loved singing in the choir and serving others in times of need. Amy was lovingly known as "NooNoo" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She played a central role in each of their lives. She will forever be remembered as the Yahtzee Queen and Championship Baker of "NooNoo cookies". Amy is survived by her husband, Donald Jones of Mansfield; her daughters Cindy (Byron) Dowds-Warmington of Portland, Oregon, Lori (Rajiv) Kaul of Portland, Oregon, and Heather (David) Carpenter of Ontario, Ohio; her stepson Jeff Jones of Bucyrus, Ohio; her stepdaughter Susan (Roy) Jones-Barnes of Ontario, Canada; her grandchildren: Shawn Dowds, Travis (Crystal) Dowds, Nathan (Megan) Dowds, AshLee (David) Lamb, Phillip Knapp, Joshua Patrick, Japheth Patrick, Larissa Kaul, Kelsey (Charlie) Kaul, Bethany (Frank) Corea, Alex (Shannon) Heffner, Haley Carpenter, James (Danielle) Jones, and Erica Giles; her great-grandchildren Devyn Dowds, Jonathan Dowds, Grace Dowds, Harvey Patrick, Selah Lamb, Isaiah Lamb, Micah Lamb, Callah Lamb, and the soon to arrive, Josephine Corea; and her niece, Kristi LaBarge-Eagle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son, Greg Knapp; her dear brother, John (Kathy) LaBarge and niece, Lisa Johnson. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Amys memory to: First United Methodist Church, 18 S.
