Obituary

Andrew "Andy" (aka "Squid") Charles Cole, 56, of Shelby, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Born May 5, 1969, in Shelby, Ohio, Andy was the son of the late Marlin C. and Edna (Workman) Cole. He was a proud graduate of Shelby High School, Class of 1987, and spent many years working in the Paint Department at PGW.

Andy was a member of the Shelby Moose and Eagles. He had a deep love for sports and was a passionate fan of Ohio State athletics, as well as the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. Over the years, he was also known for his love of animals and being a devoted pet owner.

He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, including his siblings, Tracey Cole and Tim Cole, both of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Rob Cole of Shelby, Ohio; his girlfriend, Mary Wright of Shelby, Ohio and along with his nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Marlin C. Cole.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Andy's life on Saturday, March 28th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 12:00PM at the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Wilson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Andy's memory to the Humane Society of Richland County, 3025 Park Avenue West, Ontario, Ohio 44906.
