Anthony 'Tony' Friebel Obituary Anthony (Tony) Lee Friebel, 61, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Tony was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 11, 1959. After spending six months in the Catholic orphanage, he was chosen by Robert Oswald Friebel and his wife, Kathryn (Kate Bilka) Friebel as their first son to begin their family. Tony spent his entire childhood in Shelby, and graduated from Shelby High School in 1978. He attended the University of Cincinnati, and received his Bachelor degree in 1982. After graduating, Tony moved to the Raleigh, North Carolina area, where he spent the next 35 years. He worked in the computer science field for private companies as well as an independent contractor. Tony returned to Shelby in 2016, and remained until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his loving parents. He is survived by his son Dalton Scott, Chapel Hill, NC and brother, Thomas Friebel (Felicia) of Galion, Ohio. Visitation will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will not be observed.
