Clarence "Peanut" Moorman, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Clarence was born on July 7, 1965, in Shelby to the late Donald Jr. and Martha (Steele) Moorman. A proud 1983 graduate of Plymouth High School, he went on to become a self-employed electrical technician. He took great pride in his work and was known for his ability to fix just about anything. If something was broken, Clarence was the person family and friends knew they could count on.

As a young man, Clarence excelled in athletics, earning four-year varsity letters in both golf and wrestling at Plymouth High School. His love for golf never faded, and some of his happiest days were spent on the course enjoying good conversation, friendly competition, and time with those he cared about.

Clarence found his greatest peace in the outdoors. For many years, one of the highlights of each fall was making the trip to deer camp. More than the hunt itself, it was the friendships, stories, traditions, and laughter shared around camp that meant the most to him. Those weekends created memories that he carried with him throughout his life.

Blessed with incredible talent and patience, Clarence was a gifted woodworker who poured his heart into every project he created. He never simply made something-he crafted keepsakes that would be treasured for generations. Whether it was a beautifully handcrafted clock, a cutting board, or one of his signature pens made from his father's spent military bullet casings, every piece reflected the care, creativity, and love he put into it. Giving those creations to family and friends brought him as much joy as making them.

Clarence was also a self-taught guitarist. Picking it up after graduating from high school, he dedicated himself to learning purely through determination and a love of music. Throughout the years, his guitar became another way he expressed himself, providing moments of peace, reflection, and enjoyment.

He is survived by his two sisters, Suzon (Jeff) Kreinbrink of Shelby, Ohio and Jean (Moorman) West of Crestline, Ohio; six nieces and nephews; Cathy (Chris) Bevington of Jeromesville, Ohio, David (Mary) Kennel of Lucas, Ohio, Rozeland (Jason) Bateman of Ontario, Ohio, Courtney (Ricardo) Santos of Galion, Ohio, Emily (Casey) Clevenger of Ontario, Ohio, and Alex Kreinbrink of Shelby, Ohio; 12 great-nieces and nephews; two great-great nephews; lifelong best friend Scott Ryman and Family; as well as numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Akers officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
