David Wilson Obituary David Lee Wilson, age 79, passed away at the Good Shepherd in Ashland on July 31, 2024.
Born April 7, 1945, in Newark, Ohio to Percy W. & Mary E. (Everett) Wilson, he had been an area resident for the majority of his life. A 1964 graduate of Lakewood High School in Licking County, David had worked at Miami Systems for over 35 years, before working at Midwest until his retirement. A member of the Church of God in Mansfield, he found joy in spending time outdoors. David could be found doing yard work, detailing vehicles, tinkering with small engine repairs or even helping his children with home projects. He enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Yankees, but most of all he loved to watch and attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, O. Loretta (Gearhart)Wilson, whom he wed November 13, 1964; his five children, Kimberly (Rick) Collins of Shelby, Terry (Missy) Wilson of Mansfield, Todd (Danya) Wilson of Shelby, Troy (Charlene) Wilson of Shelby and Denise (Paul) Lewis of Shelby; 13 grandchildren, Cody, Zach, Derrek, Josh, Jacoby, Emily, Abby, Erica, Jenna, Noah, Jackson, Brennan and Aden; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kenny Wilson, John (Rita) Wilson and Carl (Melody) Wilson all of Newark; one sister-in-law Phyllis Wilson of Columbus; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Anne Wilson Hockenberry in 1992; three brothers Everett, Robert, Richard Wilson; and two sisters Francis Wilson and Edna Lamp.
Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 AM from the funeral home. Pastor Ben Carver will officiate with interment held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
