Dennis A. Dillon, age 60, resident of Shiloh, died Monday, October 10, 2011, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born February 26, 1951 in Morehead, KY, he was the son of Homer A. Dillon, Sr. and Nila Gay (Lambert) Will. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served during the Vietnam Era. Dennis was employed with Ohio Valley Stamping Assemblies in Mansfield. A Shelby-Shiloh area resident all his life, he enjoyed living and working around his farm and was especially fond of animals. Dennis attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby.
Survivors include one son, Dennis A. Dillon, Jr. of Florida; one step daughter, Tiffany Baker of St. Louis, MO; his mother and stepfather, Nila Gay and Walter Will of Shelby; two brothers, Homer Dillon of Shelby and Timothy (Vickie) Dillon of Shelby; one sister, Terri (Ronald) Brown of Nocona, TX; five step-brothers, two step-sisters, one aunt and uncle, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joel David Dillon and Danial David Dillon, his father, Homer Dillon, Sr. in 1989, two brothers, James Dillon in 1948 and Michael Dillon in 2004 and two sisters-in-law, Kathy Dillon in 1992 and Marie Dillon in 2011.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Rev. Steven Schag will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the MedCentral Hospice, 335 Glessner Ave., Mansfield, OH 44903.
