Obituary

Dickie F. Green, cherished husband, father, and beloved member of the Plymouth community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Mercy Health Willard Hospital in Willard, Ohio. Born on July 9, 1954, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Shelby and Lucille M. (Sexton) Green, Dickie's life was a testament to dedication, passion, and the warmth of family bonds.

At just sixteen, Dickie embarked on a lifelong journey marked by craftsmanship and pride when he began working in the painting department at Plymouth Locomotive. His extraordinary talent earned him acclaim locally and nationally, highlighted by the unique honor of painting the iconic Thomas the Train engine-a symbol of his meticulous skill and creative spirit.

An avid outdoorsman, Dickie found solace and joy in hunting and fishing, embracing the calm and challenge of nature’s embrace. His leadership as acting President of the Richland County Coon Hunters at Snake Road reflected his devotion to community and tradition. His earlier efforts to revive the Crawford County Coon Hunters further demonstrated his commitment to preserving shared passions. In his younger days, the thrill of racing cars ignited a spark within him, while his fondness for gambling, especially on horse races, added a vibrant thread to his tapestry of interests.

Those who will cherish his memories include his wife, Valeri Green, whom he married on September 8, 2025, treating her as the love of his life. He is remembered by his children-Rich (Veronica) Green of Maineville, Ohio; George Green of Shelby, Ohio; and Barb Crain of Plymouth, Ohio-as well as his stepchildren, Veronica (Travis) Hall and Keshena Ann Mullins. Dickie’s legacy lives on through his treasured grandchildren-Serenity, Cody, Zack, Synthia, Brady, Tori, Haley, Desiree, Kyle, Willow, and Lyric-and his great-grandchildren, Carsen, Jaylen, Christian, Hayden, Kendall, Kylie, Brantley, Kenzee, Khole, Luke, and Remington, who carry forward the light of his love and spirit.

He joins in eternal rest his parents, his cherished grandsons, Colten and Xavier, and his siblings Kathy Maye, Jack Green, and Marsha Cummings, who preceded him in death.
