Donald Alfrey Obituary Donald R. Alfrey, age 75, of Shelby died Thursday May 17, 2018 at Ohio Health Hospital Mansfield. Born October 30, 1942 in Shelby to Leonard and Mary (Hicks) Alfrey, he has been a Shelby resident his entire life. Don had worked for Chrysler Boat Company and more recently he had worked for the city of Shelby. He is survived by his wife, Dottie (Snyder) Alfrey, whom he married June 5, 2004; son, Alan (Heather) Alfrey of Crestline; daughter, Cathy Lynn Evans of Shelby; step-daughter, Stephanie Snyder of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Zach and Carly Alfrey and Santanna Drake; two brothers, Art (Lavada) Alfrey of Shelby and Jim Alfrey of Galion; sister, Darlene Alfrey of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Alfrey and Cathy Green both of Shelby; brother-in-law, Royal Snyder of Massillon; best friend, Betty Flannery and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tina Alfrey and brother, Jr Alfrey. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday May 24, 2018 from 4:00-8:00PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00AM. Rev. JR Harvey will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice.
