Donald Roberts Obituary Donald H. Roberts, age 89, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at his home in Shelby, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born March 23, 1935, at Vernon Junction in Shelby to the late Ossie Lee and Hazel Elizabeth (Hess) Roberts, he had been a Shelby resident his whole life. In his youth he was one of the last children to attend the Morton One Room School House in Shelby for elementary school. As an adult, Donald worked as a truck driver by trade working for American Tower, Roethlisberger Trucking, and General Highway Express, before retiring in 1992 from Central Transport. He was a long-time member of the Shelby Fraternal Order of Eagles #763, the Shelby American Legion #326, as well as the Shelby Owls #2553. His interests included spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and supporting them in their athletic endeavors. Donald is survived by his children, Vickie Oehlhof of Shelby; Don Roberts of Shelby; William Roberts of Shelby; Randall Roberts of Shelby; Rhonda Aley of Mansfield, OH; Ron (Suzi) Roberts of Shelby; step-daughters, Karen (JW) Brown and Gail Lampkin both of Michigan; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Roberts; six siblings, infant sister Iona, Ardus 'Bud', Chuck, Ted, Margaret, and Hoop; and his previous wives, Janet Argo and Juanita Jennings-Roberts. Friends and Family may call at The Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Services will immediately follow Friday, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Ben Carver officiating. Internment will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
