Dorothy Brooks Obituary Dorothy 'Dottie' June Brooks, age 82, joined her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 26, 2022 at OhioHealth Mansfield. Born June 2, 1939, to William 'Pete' and Bessie (Overholt) Brooks, she was a resident of Fremont until she moved to Shelby seven months ago. Dottie worked for Brush-Wellman and was a life member of the VFW #701 of Fremont. She was also a very active member of the Eagles #200 of Fremont and enjoyed refinishing doll houses that she would auction off at the VFW or Eagles. She donated the proceeds from her doll house auctions to the animal shelter. Survivors include Dottie's children, Sandra Hiles, Jesse Wipert of Nunnelly, TN, Debra (Judy Brumenshenkel) of Mansfield, and Jami (Steve) Flowers of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Paul Strong Jr., Angel Strong, Jessica Wipert, Russell Wipert, Tracy Adamkiewicz, and Stacy Adamkiewicz; ten great-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ellen Collins, Jack (Donna) Brooks, and Michael 'Dale' (Tammy) Brooks; nineteen nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wipert; and siblings, Anna Mae Brooks, Louie Brooks, Little Pete Brooks, Charles Brooks, David Brooks, Tony Brooks, BJ Brooks, and Carol Brooks. A memorial service for Dottie will be held at the First UCC Church in Shelby, Ohio on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Robinson officiating. There will be no burial held at this time. The Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with their arrangements.
