Glenn Greenawalt Obituary Glenn A. Greenawalt, age 89, died on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. Born December 10, 1931 in Jackson Township, OH to Orlow and Hazel (Arnold) Greenawalt, he was a Shelby area resident for 61 years. A 1950 graduate of Shelby High School, he was employed as a millwright at Ohio Steel and Tube from 1955 to 1991. Glenn was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Korean War Vets Association and the Shenandoah Christian Church in Shelby. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren and especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle, riding across the Mackinac Bridge three times. He is survived by his grandchildren, Richard (Holly) Coleman, Jessica (Michael) Young, Christopher (Candice) Coleman, Amanda Yunker (Emily Stoney), Christopher (Deirda) Suydam; granddaughter in law Danielle Coleman; great grandchildren Austin, Jordan, Micheala, Tyler, Chelsea, Jacob, Jadyn, Jennifer, Dillon, Lyndsee, Kyle, Glenna and Emily; great great grandson Bentley. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty J . (Shrader) Greenawalt whom he wed April 16, 1955; daughter Melinda (Rex) Suydam; grandson John Coleman; sister Leota Raider. Friends may call the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Andrew Wells with full military honors provided by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Interment will follow at Bellville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
